Angel Leona Voice Studio is located in West Knoxville, TN. Students of Angel Leona Voice have gone on to
place in the semi-finals of FOX television's American Idol and receive vocal scholarships to Carson-Newman,
Lee University, and Berklee College of Music. Most recently, five of Angel Leona Voice's students made the
Top 12 of the 2011 Knoxville Junior Voice Competition and an ALV student took home 1st Runner-Up in the
Adult Category.

Choosing the Right Vocal Coach
Choosing the right Vocal Coach is no different than choosing the right doctor or specialist for a medical
condition. You're not gonna go see a gynecologist for a throat problem...you would need to see an ENT or
throat specialist. The same applies to your search for a vocal coach. If your goal is to sing country, pop, rock,
R&B, contemporary musical theater, gospel, jazz and the like, it doesn't make since for you to seek training and
coaching from a voice instructor who can only sing or has solely studied choral or classical music. If they can't
belt it out and manipulate their airflow to produce a variety of tones, they're NOT going to be able to teach you
how to do it. Next thing you know you're stuck singing all these songs that you hate or would never sing live
because that's what your voice teacher has you practicing!
Everyone doesn't have the freedom to mix and blend tones. In fact the MAJORITY of women are stuck in their
head tone or falsetto. Most guys aren't stuck in their falsetto; however they tend to have a major CAP on their
range due to a lack of technique and breath control. If you want to successfully sing what's on the radio you
need a specialist. You need someone who not only CAN SING the way you'd like to sing but who knows how to
break down the technique and give you a formula to produce the desired tones. You don't need someone who
has a pretty singing voice but can't teach you how to sing a song like the original artist. You need someone
who knows how to bring out YOUR entire voice & not just a section of it.
Now this note isn't for those of you who simply want to sing in All East or chorus at school or sing classical
music. If that is your desire a regular chorus teacher or classically trained vocalist is PERFECT for you and
would bring out the best in your voice. However if you wanna sing like Carrie Underwood, Beyonce, Justin
Timberlake or dude from Rascal Flats, these type of instructors aren't going to be able to bring it out of you
because it requires a different technique and manipulation of air to create such tones.
With that said, DON'T WASTE TIME & MONEY studying with the WRONG type of instructor. If you wouldn't go
see an optometrist for a knee injury, don't go see a choral or classically trained instructor to help you sing
